It was a Senior Night to remember as the Bothell High School Cougars delivered a thrilling last-minute victory to capture the KingCo 4A championship. With only 31 seconds left in the game, Eastlake took the lead with a two-point conversion, putting Bothell in a tight spot and raising the stakes for the Cougars. However, the Cougars had an answer.
They marched right down the field, putting kicker Diego Palomera in position for a 30-yard field goal attempt as time expired. Palomero drilled the kick through the uprights, sealing a 31-29 victory for Bothell and triggering a celebration the program won’t soon forget.
It was one of the best games I’ve seen, one of the reasons I try to make it out to as many possible.
