SEATTLE – When Eastside Catholic needed a boost, Jeremiah Burroughs provided a the spark, scoring both Eastside Catholic touchdowns during a 20-7 victory over Lincoln in the Class 3A state quarterfinals at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The win sets up at return to Memorial Stadium this weekend for a highly anticipated rematch with O’Dea (11-0).

“Amazing, but we’ve got to get the job finished,” Burroughs said, when asked about advancing to the semifinals. “The semis are good, but we’ve got to get the job finished.”

With a 10-0 lead at the half (the one touchdown scored by Burroughs), the senior running back said coach Dominic Daste’s halftime message was clear: Get the offense moving, and the results would follow.

“We just had to get it going,” Burroughs said. “It just wasn’t enough in the first half, so we needed to get it going on offense. That was Coach Dom’s main message coming out of the locker room, so we just had to get it going. It worked out, thanks to God.”

The Crusaders (10-1) now get a rematch with O’Dea (11-0). The Crusaders fell to Irish 20-0 loss back in September and will look to return the favor 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium. The winner will advance to the Class 3A championship game on Dec. 6 at Husky Stadium.
